A general-purpose mesh basket carries parts. A Sterilization Basket is built for what happens after the wash. It stacks — basket on basket, standing on its own feet or locating onto the rim of the one below — so a chamber load goes in as a stack rather than one basket at a time, and the capacity of the cycle is used rather than half-used. Steam reaches the load through the open mesh instead of stonewalling against a solid wall, and condensate leaves through the floor instead of sitting pooled in the bottom of the basket. The stainless body holds its form through cycle after cycle, which is what keeps the stack sitting level at the top of the chamber. And when the cycle ends, the basket carries straight into sterile storage as it stands, so the contents are not picked out and handled again to move them. It is built for CSSD sterilizer loading, autoclave loading in laboratories and production areas, and transfer into the sterile store.
